PHILOSOPHY

Our approach to horse care is simple. We believe that horses are happiest when they are allowed to be as close to their natural state as possible. This means ample daily turnout, regardless of weather, with open space, access to shelter, forage and water. We find this reduces stress, conflicts and injury/illness, as well as many behavior issues found when horses are confined. Herd size is limited to prevent overgrazing and fields are mowed and maintained for best grazing.

Our feed program is tailored to each individual, based on need and performance. Muzzles are kept on those with weight issues and feed is supplemented with alfalfa pellets and beet pulp shreds for those needing extra calories or seniors with dental issues. Any feed changes are done only after consulting with the owner.
